The Halloween Party 2015

Guuuuuuuuuuys! I had such a wonderful time on Saturday at our Halloween party! I really, really wish all my blog friends could’ve been there, too! As promised, here’s a (somewhat long) recap of our annual Halloween bash! I promise it’s my last Halloween-related post of the year.

on Friday night my brother & Christina came over to carve pumpkins! I went with a monster, Fred did Mario, and Christina did a moon and star!

. . .

Our Pixar Themed Guests included Joy, Anger, Sadness, & Disgust from Inside Out, Nemo in the anemone and Crush the (dog) turtle from Finding Nemo, Wall-E and Eva from Wall-E, Merida from Brave, and Buzz Woofyear from Toy Story. The Joker and Nadine (from Twin Peaks) also stopped by!

Fred/Wall-E won the costume contest and Kyle came in second (and, in my opinion, Kayla/anemone was a close third). They won a Halloween koozie and chocolate covered pretzels. My parents stopped in for the party toward the end, but they weren’t costumed. The Halloween Queen did dress up for her 1st grade class on Friday, though, and she did not disappoint.

Since we’re pre-senior citizens the party actually ended by 10:30pm and we were in bed before midnight. If I was 21 I’d have been disappointed but my exhaustion was at an all-time-high and everyone had a good time. (Plus, we started at 6pm since Elliot required an early bedtime.) Another festive, successful Halloween party in the books.

Tell me how you spent your holiday!

Thanks, Rebecca! My husband came up with the lamp idea and put me in charge of executing it, ha! An hour before the party he went out and found a headlamp to pull it all together 😀

  3. Wow, your guys’ costumes are INCREDIBLE! The Wall-e is great, but I really like the lamp costume. What a clever idea 🙂 I love how you guys were in bed by midnight – my kind of partiers! I stayed home for Halloween. It used to be my favorite holiday, but since I don’t really like to go to clubs and rage, I usually wind up just enjoying some quiet time with the animals these days. Weirdly, since the time changed, I was up at 6:30am the next day.

Thanks, Cat! I am always so exhausted by the end of October. I think I put too much pressure on making the whole month great. Maybe I will slow down a little next year… Good for you for getting up at 6:30am! I aim for that on the weekdays and usually frantically get up and dress at 7:30! Ha!

Ha, thank Chelsea!! You should definitely see Brave soon! I cried, though, because it’s a mother-daughter relationship that’s a little shaky and together they learn a lesson…. and I had a shaky relationship with my mom when I was a punkass teenager…. so I bawled. To make matters worse my mom was with me at the theater. UGH! Ha!
Funny story… I bought a box of Teddy Grahams for the party and didn’t find out until I got home that they were individually packaged! UGH! So now I have some left over snack-size bags! Woo hoo! Ha!
