I don’t want to complain- really, I don’t- but this past holiday weekend was a trip to Hell and back for me. I’m so exhausted. I was actually glad to come back to work on Monday. I mentioned in my vlog that I technically work 4-ish jobs… and this past weekend I put a lot of time, energy, and effort into all four. #overemployed

catI also mentioned last week that I was looking forward to working Black Friday. I actually ended up working 7-10:30pm on Thanksgiving and 6-10:20am on BF. If I had just left at 10am on Friday I would’ve had a wonderful experience, but in that last 20 minutes I was verbally attacked by a customer and it pretty much destroyed my entire day weekend. #HowDoesOneBecomeSoMean #gohome #poisonoustonguedevil

aprilFortunately Friday night and all day Saturday were spent with a wedding party (because of the wedding planning job that I never blog about) that was so easy and nice to work with. Weddings are exhausting, but when you have an easygoing family with a lovely bride & groom it makes it 10xs easier. The husband and wife are in the Coast Guard and four of the five groomsmen were Coast Guard so they looked dashing in their white uniforms! #soattractive #TheyDidASwordArch #amazingpeople

upOn Sunday K took me to breakfast and asked me to paint the new office space he’s recently leased for the company. (We also have a new +/- 10,000 s.f. warehouse space- woo hoo!!) I really wanted a day off, but I know he needs to get into the new area asap so I took one for the team. Plus, after work on Mon. & Tues. I have no plans so maybe I can finish getting Christmas up and clean the house. #TooBusy #ActsOfService #LoveLanguage

dumbledoreIn other news, I’m currently in a horrendous mood as I write this. (Hopefully when I publish it I will be a little more cheerful.)

*That was a lot of complaining in a short amount of time… I’m sorry. I really am thankful for many things…

asshole dayI didn’t mean to take a whole week off and I didn’t mean to do two hashtag posts in a row… but sometimes you just need to step back. I’m still fighting a headache that started on Thanksgiving. Ugh.

I’m happy to link-up with Laura & Lauren and Nadine & Kathy and Alanna & Plucky, and Happy One Year Anniversary to the #HashtagHumpDay link-up!

I feel like confession posts are the perfect time to get it all out! I hate people on Black Friday they lose their minds and any respect for the people who are working their asses off that day.

Oh my gosh. I just wanted to grab this woman’s cheeks and yell “THE WORLD OWES YOU NOTHING” in her face. But then I would’ve gotten fired. And that would’ve been sad. Here’s to hoping she never comes back! Haha!

  2. I complain a fair amount in my confessions sometimes too. And that sucks about that customer. I don’t know what makes people think it’s okay to be that mean.

I think confessions are a good place to complain 🙂 I can’t wrap my head around being mean to strangers. Thankfully my shift ended and I could go to my car and cry. It was ROUGH!

It really does! Which is so weird… I mean, you’re shopping for others and celebrating the holiday so why would you be such a bear? UGHHH. This is why I prefer my dogs 😉

.. I dont get rude people – especially on busy days. Like that helps?
I’m kinda glad to get back to work myself & back to life routine… but that puts me in that same bad mood you’re talking about 🙂 haha

I think my week is on the mend now… I work at the retail job tonight and I am PRAYING that people can keep their crazy to a minimum. I will say that the mean woman on BF is very lucky that I had to be professional and reserved… because I’d have ripped her a new you-know-what for talking to me, my manager, and the two poor folks on the phone the way she did. UGH.

Thank you! I just can’t imagine what makes a person think it’s ok to be SO SO SO mean and rude. All the more reason to surround myself with good, happy hearts this season!

Thankfully the rest of this week/weekend is a little more chill. I think I’ve decided that when I finally quit my retail job I’m going to go out of there telling off some self-righteous hateful customer… 😉

  7. Booooooo for a tough weekend. Working customer service can be so hard, because you really can’t stand up for yourself when someone is being a terrible person. In that respect, I’m so glad I now get to work behind a computer every day, haha. I saw the office you painted on snapchat, so cute!

My full time job is behind a desk & computer and I always say that I keep my part time job just for some human interaction… but that woman was making me regret my decision! Haha! And thank you! We painted most of it and then my husband installed a custom weathered-wood wall 😀

Oh girl! I’m sorry you had such a sucky Thanksgiving. People suck! I often wonder how people get to be so mean. I don’t think it would ever cross my mind to gripe out an employee. Usually, whatever is wrong isn’t the person you’re talking to’s fault. And yelling doesn’t get you anywhere anyway. (Except on somebody’s hate list)

Ugh, I would never treat someone the way this woman treated me. But it’s all over and done with- It’s so nice to have some folks around that don’t mind me venting! As long as people like us fill the world the people like her don’t get to win 😉

Some people just totally amaze me. And not in the good way. UGH. This week is proving to be a little more enjoyable and this weekend I get to be the shopper on the other side of the counter. Except I won’t be an ass. Ha.

  11. It sounds like retail is one of those 4ish jobs you have. Dude, I totally understand how one asshole customer can ruin your whole day. Totally.

Sometimes, you just need to vent. Do it, girlie!

Yes, yes! I didn’t explain that very well… I work full time M-F 8am to 5pm, but I also work part time at a little girls’ clothing store in our mall. (And my best friend and I have a wedding planning business and I help my husband out with his business.) So…. I count all 4 as my jobs! Fortunately, I usually enjoy them all!

Thanks, Lindsay! I actually work full time for an appraisal company but I have a part time job at the local mall. (I got it last year and enjoyed it so I just stayed on all year.) On top of those I have a wedding planning side business with my bff and my husband has a national business. Whew. We need a vacation! Haha!
