It’s rare for me to write on a Tuesday, but today is National Popcorn Day and I was invited by casper.com, the maker of comfortable mattresses, to share my favorite combination of treats and sweets for the perfect movie night in bed! As an unofficial list-maker extraordinaire, I was 100% sold on the handy little checklist of movie night essentials included at the end of this post!
First things first, a comfortable atmosphere is a must 🙂 Our king size bed has plenty of room for two humans and two dogs. Next we had to pick a movie that we all love (dogs included)… If you haven’t seen The Italian Job then you’re missing out. (We settled on an action-packed drama but Talladega Nights and Pearl Harbor were strong contenders.)
It’s not a movie night without popcorn, though! We like to make the healthy “light butter” popcorn…. and then drizzle a few tablespoons of melted butter on top of it! Checkout our complete list of movie night necessities:
What’s your favorite kind of popcorn? What movies do you and your roommates or significant other always agree on?
We always agree on Super Hero movies 🙂
I havent had popcorn in forever. With all my dental issues, it scares me to chomp on it 🙂 But man, I do miss me some caramel popcorn.. mmmmm…

Is it weird that we DON’T always agree on superhero movies?? And he’s usually the one to protest! I LOVE anything X-Men and don’t even get me started on Guardians of the Galaxy… 🙂
I can definitely understand your practical aversion to popcorn… maybe the hull-less kind would work for you? (That’s a thing, right??)

um, this is a day after my own heart, thank you for partnering and posting about it! I now have plans to make some homemade popcorn in my stir crazy popper and watch some bad tv.

BAD TV IS THE BEST 😀 He’ll kill me for saying it, but my husband watched a whole episode of The Bachelor this week! I highly doubt I could make that show our popcorn-in-bed entertainment, though. Hehe!

I didn’t know this day existed, but I’m definitely observing it with some Simple Truth Kettle Corn!

National Popcorn Day is definitely a good excuse to make some delicious kettle corn! That’s my mom’s favorite kind of popped corn 🙂 I think it smells weird….. but it definitely tastes delicious! Haha!

Oh man I love popcorn. Movie theater popcorn is probably the food that I can eat the most of in one sitting. I always eat waaay more than Michael does. My family is also really into making popcorn for dinner (we use our Whirley Pops). Michael doesn’t feel like it fills him up enough. I’m like how does a gigantic bowl of popcorn not?! You meant you want vitamins and minerals and protein?! P’shaw! 🙂

Ha! I think that popcorn and wine is an acceptable (and sometimes favorable) dinner combination 😀 K and I argue about whether or not popcorn is a dessert food. I say yes, he says no. Regardless, whenever I make it (dessert or not), his little greedy fingers are in the bowl 🙂 Haha!
