First of all: Happy 29th Anniversary, Mom & Dad ❤︎
Ok, on to my spring goals… Back in March I estimated that I’d complete 80% of my list. Turns out, I didn’t. Here’s what got done:
Condense three closets into two and donate/store clothes(I combined some of K’s clothes into my closet and freed one up!)Finish Year 2 scrapbook- Order pictures for Year 3 scrapbook (to be done after April 27th)
- Scrub greasy build-up off kitchen cabinets
- Landscape front yard
- This didn’t happen, but we did purchase a grill and patio furniture for the backyard!
Wash dog harnesses, leashes, beds, and blanketsRe-organize Pinterest boards(Delete doubles and got rid of the useless pins.)
Figure out what to do (decor-wise) in stairwell(Honestly, it still needs something… but we at least made some progress.)- Paint the front door and replace house numbers
Decide what to do with finished basement area…(I think we pretty much decided on a drum room.)
So there you have it, 60% of the tasks completed. More than half, so I feel alright.
I’ll be totally honest with you guys: I finished my Year 2 scrapbook right before I posted my list in the spring. Is that technically cheating? Oh well. I clearly needed to cheat a little. That said, I finished up two of these things this past weekend. Crunch time is a good time for me. Ha.
Having this list reminded me of the projects I wanted to accomplish these last few weeks. Keeping to-do lists on the blog holds me accountable (at least in my head). That said, here’s a shorter Summer To-Do List; deadline is the first day of autumn (❤︎❤︎❤︎), Sept. 22.
- Paint front door & replace house numbers
- Build small deck in backyard
- Scrub greasy build-up off kitchen cabinets
- Order Year 3 Photos & start scrapbook
- Wash couch cushion slips & dust fans/blinds/neglected places
My summer list is shorter because we’ve got some vacations and weddings. What are you hoping to accomplish this summer?
My summer list is easy too, since I totally failed at spring. You did much better than me, I think you got a lot done! Good luck with the summer ones!

I got to cross a few things off, but it’s a little frustrating that the ones that didn’t get done are the ones that have been on the list FOREVER. Haha 🙂 Some day I’ll tackle them…

You’re supposed to wipe off your kitchen cabinets? … oops 😉

Right??! Haha! 😀 I don’t even want to THINK about the build-up I’ll be scrubbing off soon… Ugh!

I say that the stuff you did in the back yard totally wash the stuff you didn’t do in your front yard and you have a better percentage rate of completion. Just saying. I did the whole wood cleaner on the kitchen cabinets a few months back. What a chore! My arms were sore after. I hate dusting the blinds. Hate hate double hate LOATHE ENTIRELY!

Haha, thanks! My husband is a little more motivated when it comes to the backyard, so it’s a little easier to get stuff done 🙂
I am NOT looking forward to scrubbing cabinets. And we have that gap between our cabinets and the ceiling so I have stuff up there that’s going to need washed, too. Ughhh!

Oooow, deck-building?! Can’t wait to see the finished product. Also, you scrapbook?! I’m so impressed. I LOVE making scrapbooks, but I’m the worst at getting them actually to the “done” stage. Haha (And happy anniversary to your parents!)

We have a little patio/over-hang area, but there’s a corner next to house that’s usually shaded and we needed something there so we thought we’d do a little step-up deck that we can building a fire pit into/on 🙂
I’ve scrapbooked forever, though admittedly I go through peaks and slumps. Haha.

I think you did great!! I used to be so good about scrapbooking but now I am 2 years behind. You have given me confidence that I can get back to it! I really need to get myself organized but that is one of my weak spots!!

You can do it!! I’ve been scrapbooking since I was a little kid, but took a hiatus in high school and college. I have a list of trips that I want to scrapbook, but so far I’ve been able to keep up with marriage years! (Organization tip: I keep a folder in my office that I drop ticket stubs/cards/etc. into so that I can scrap it at the end of the year!)

Summer is hard for me, productivity-wise.
I hate the kitchen cabinet grease. It freaks me out. It’s been a while since I’ve done mine!
Love the door painting one. What color?

I have a feeling I’m going to get ridiculously frustrated when I go to tackle the kitchen grease. UGH. I hate dealing with oily or sticky things.
Originally we both decided we wanted a deep but bright red front door 😀 Now the husband is thinking a subtle dark blue might be better. I still vote red. I guess we should’ve taken advantage of the moment when we both agreed, hahaha.

At least you were able to get some of the list completed! Which is definitely better than nothing. The summer goals definitely look doable. Good luck!

Dang! This is awesome, you definitely made really great progress in the spring. And to be honest most of those are things that I would continue to put off… if I had to guess. Way to go! I hate the kitchen grease. It’s the worst! Still working on my upcoming goals… but enjoying the progress I’ve made on my yearly ones so far! 🙂 XO – Alexandra

Thanks! There’s room for improvement with my list but that’ll always be the case 🙂 I really need to take a crack at the kitchen grease. Ha. The longer I put it off the worse it’s gonna get. Lol.
