This week is dragging on for me. I hope it’s going a little quicker for you (if that’s your prerogative). In less than two weeks I will be relaxing on vacation so it’s a challenge to focus right now. I promise I’m trying to live in the now 😉
Today’s post was half inspired by Rebecca Jo’s post and half inspired by the juvenile game (or drinking game) of “Never Have I Ever.” And in this version I get to keep all my fingers up and I don’t have to throw back any shots of alcohol. If you’ve ever played the game, you understood that.
So basically this is just a weird “about me” post… Just in case you don’t know enough already. Ha.
Never have I ever… had my ears pierced. When I was 10 my mom took me to get them done for my birthday but I totally chickened out and started crying as soon as the needle gun thingy was at my head. At that moment I lost all interest in ear jewelry.
Never have I ever… been to Mexico. I’ve been to Europe and India and the Bahamas and Canada, but I’ve never been to Mexico. Between the heat and the cartel and the zika I don’t have any immediate travel plans 😉
Never have I ever… gone on a blind date. I started dating K just after my seventeenth birthday. I had one serious boyfriend prior to K (UGH) and a few high school flings, but I’ve never really had the opportunity to go on a blind date. If I were single I don’t know that I’d go on one anyway… I’ve seen way too many episodes of Criminal Minds.
Never have I ever… been in a physical fight. I once got mad enough to sucker-punch a friend but K (who I was not dating at the time) caught my arm mid-air and restrained me from throwing a punch.
Never have I ever… bought a lottery ticket. Or visited an “adult video store.” Or gambled. Or any of that stuff people do when they turn 18. Ha! Actually, I didn’t even order an alcoholic beverage on my 21st birthday! I got a Shirley Temple.
Never have I ever… gotten a speeding ticket. I’m sure I’ve jinxed myself now. The first time it happens I know I’ll cry- even though I’ll deserve it. Haha. I was cited for ‘failure to control’ but I still think that was total b.s. It was black ice and I totaled my car and I totally could’ve used some mercy from the officer. (I later heard that he regretted being so harsh. I forgive him.)
Never have I ever… had braces. I know a lot of people haven’t, but I’ve been complimented before on my braces work because my teeth are super straight! That gives me some joy since I have over 9 fillings in my mouth from cavities. I’ll take what I can get. (I promise I brush & floss… I just have teeth that are close together and sensitive gums.)
Never have I ever… been hospitalized overnight. When I snapped my leg it was at night and we were at the hospital until the wee hours of the morning, but I’ve never been admitted.
Maybe none of these things make me unique… Ha! Maybe you have one that sets you apart from everyone else! What have you never done??

I’ve been to Mexico multiple times; due to all the things you’ve listed, I don’t foresee going back anytime soon.
Come to think of it, most of the things you listed, I have done. Let me check. Okay, I’ve never been in a physical fight or hospitalized overnight either. But, everything else I’ve done…including been to an adult video store, gambled, and ordered (LOTS) of alcoholic beverages on my 21st. Then again, I’m a heathen.

I think that after my birthday dinner with my family I drove back to college/my dorm and my friends had a beer waiting for me… but I can’t remember. They definitely had a cake with a beer drawn on it, lol! I didn’t enjoy hard cider and wine back then like I do now 😉

I always tell people with all my teeth problems the same thing – I SWEAR I brush & floss – I’m actually a flossing fanatic. I think my issues – I’ve always hated milk & I think my teeth miss the lack of calcium.
I was the same way about turning 21 – I never did anything ‘fun’ with that age. I never went to a bar until I was married & in my 30’s – & we only went because we were the finals in a radio contest 🙂 haha
My ears were pierced when I was 2 yrs old so lucky I dont remember anything about it 🙂

I have a love/hate relationship with my teeth. They’re straight and fairly white, but the cavity issue has plagued me forever. I don’t know how many fillings I have, but it’s not even accurate to how many I’ve been through- my baby teeth had fillings, too 😦 UGH.

I have never had braces but I probably should have. I also haven’t been to Mexico, went on a blind date, been in a physical fight that didn’t include little kid bickering and slapping between siblings or been hospitalized over night. Well, not since I was a baby.

I don’t think my brother and I ever physically fought, though I’m sure we slapped at each other. I really, really hate being touched, haha, so if someone bumped me or playfully slapped me as a kid my rage was instant! Ha!

I have my ears pierced, but I actually passed out when I got them pierced as a preteen/teenager. I haven’t worn earrings in a few years because I can’t stand the feeling. Something about piercings bothers me, although on other people they are fine. I went to Mexico as a kid but got so sick I was vomiting everywhere. So you may not be missing much.

Oh man… your stories are making me feel like I will never ever change those two facts about myself, haha! Admittedly, I got sick in India, too. (Just for a day, though.) Sometimes travel- especially to countries like that- can turn your tummy.
I don’t mind piercings on other people, but I will NOT hold someone’s earrings. Ears gross me out. Lol.

I’ve never been in a fight or been admitted to the hospital (I’ve never actually been in the hospital for anything even without admitting…my mom took me to the ER when I was super little because I fell down the stairs and threw up all night so the assumption was that I had a concussion and they couldn’t do anything…maybe that counts?). I had braces but my mom has extremely perfect teeth and no braces ever and I’m jealous. I’ve been pulled over once, but no speeding ticket, and no blind dates here either! I’ve had a never have I ever post drafted foreverrrr. I think it’s done and I’ll finally post it next week! Might have to add that I’ve never gotten a speeding ticket though…. Ha!

I swear… My brother or I were in the hospital every other year. Ha. Broken legs, ankles, fingers, collar bones, backs. Hahaha. And the years we didn’t end up in the ER my dad did/does. My poor mother………. ha.

My mom just went to Atlantic City, NJ with a friend to gamble a bit and people-watch. None of us really wanted to go so she made her own vacation- haha! Honestly, I do want to see Mexico someday, but I’m going to let everything calm down in the south before I go. The zika thing is what freaks me out most! (Even though I’m not pregnant, haha.)

I was one of those weird kids who longed for braces and glasses. Haha! Now I’m glad I didn’t haven’t to go through it (God bless those who did!) and I’m quietly avoiding the glasses I will inevitably have to get… #adulting

My entire mouth is a cavity. It has nothing to do with hygiene and a lot to do with cosmetics.
This week is SO SLOW. It’s killing me.

My family seems to think that me being put in the crib with a bottle is what doomed my gums/teeth for life. Either way, it suuuuucks. I just anticipate the dentist saying “cavity” at every check-up. I celebrate when he only finds one. UGH.
This week feels like the whole month of June. I don’t understand it. Ha.

ohhh these are super interesting! i love this game (as well as 2 truths and a lie). i’ve never been pulled over and i am gives me A LOT of anxiety thinking about when it happens for the first time. ahhhh! also love the lack of ear piercing quote (i have quite a few piercings) but my mom wouldn’t let get my ears double pierced in high school so that’s when i rebelliously ‘tapered’ my earring hole. that got me sent away from the dinner table when she finally realized what i did…ha!

I love that you were scolded for your rebellious ears!! Haha! My mom bought me the magnetic earrings once and I psyched my dad out with them, but he wouldn’t have cared either way. He was just shocked that I allegedly went through with it!

No braces for me either! Although I’ve never gotten complimented on straight teeth… mine are not super straight, but considering I’ve never had braces I don’t think they are too bad. But I have NEVER had a cavity! Both Jordan and I have really good teeth and hopefully R will too!

These absolutely make you unique! Unfortunately I got my first speeding ticket while living in Hawaii…. it was awful and ended costing me over $200!! Hold onto that uniqueness!!

Oh no!! I remember when my brother got a ticket in high school… He didn’t have a job and had to start mowing lawns to pay it because my parents were NOT covering that. Haha!

i’m jealous of your super pretty teeth without braces! i haven’t had braces either, but my teeth are not pretty. and i have had cavities too, lots of them. oops. and a couple of speeding tickets.. i’m a much better (non speeder) driver now lol

My wisdom teeth almost messed up the straight-ness, but I got them out in time. Honestly, I AVOID the dentist because I’m so tired of hearing that I have a cavity. Ha..

I love that you mentioned the dentist because my husband has the straightest teeth of anyone I’ve ever seen but he ALWAYS gets cavities even though he brushes and flosses and then there’s me who’s had braces for 3 years a retainer thanks to a lot of teeth that were literally sideways and I’ve only had 3 cavities in my 30 years!

Ugh. Cavities are the worst and I would definitely know. Hahaha. I have no idea how many of my teeth have fillings PLUS some of my baby teeth had fillings! Haha. I’m a wreck. At least they’re straight and white, I guess. Hahaha!
