You Are Great! (ep.1)

Today I was going to go on a political rant, but then I decided not to. First of all, you can probably guess how I feel. But secondly- and more seriously- there is too much negativity floating around in my world (and probably yours), so today I’m filling this space with positivity. And on that note…

You are great.

You are a smart and capable human. I’m sure you’re facing some serious struggles right now, but you have so many people who love you! And you are going to do awesome things today, tomorrow, and in your lifetime. Don’t get tripped up on today’s problems- soon enough they’ll be old news. Put on your favorite shirt. Treat yourself to your favorite dessert. Put on some new, wacky nail polish. And never forget that your amazing eyes are reading these words and your amazing brain is processing this paragraph and that’s so incredible- You’re an incredible person!

This is going to be a monthly thing; we could all use a monthly pep talk. When you need the refresher, check back here to remind yourself how absolutely great you are! (And come back for a new awesome message in September!)

Now it’s time to brag:
Tell me something great that you have done or that has happened for you lately!!

You’re so right, there’s WAY too much negativity when people just need to see the positive aspects in their life.

In my own world: Friends here in Vancouver. So grateful for my amazing friends!

Pep talks are a great thing! Although the world is a terrible place at times, and I do find myself (off the blog) wallowing here and there and wishing it could be better. I like to keep my blog a place where I can appreciate my life, myself and the world I have right now.

There’s only so much negativity that we can surround ourselves with and it’s bad enough that the news likes to force it upon us, I don’t want to add to it by giving weight to it in my writing.

For me: My greatest achievement of late was quitting a job I’ve hated and realising that it’s ok to do that, and it’s ok to choose happiness.

    Have an ace day!

I’m not typically great at being positive. I actually screamed at my neighbor last night… ha. (He deserved it. He came home at 11:30pm & started blasting rock music, and then stood on his front porch with the door open and watch our house. #CREEP) But I try to be more positive than negative πŸ™‚
I’m so glad that you’ve made such large changes for the sake of your happiness! That’s really all we can do in this world! πŸ˜€

  3. I’m not an optimist or a pessimist, I’m a realist. I think we need the positive and the negative for balance, and choice – so we can choose which we will be and how we will react. I like to think about that kind of stuff!

My “it’s the small things that make the world go round” accomplishment this week is keeping up with the INSANE amount of laundry that has been produced by guests and tenants and us and dogs. LOL

I agree πŸ™‚ You and Erin and Mattie and so many others always express EXACTLY how I feel- so I just decided to take a week off as far as expressing my political opinion πŸ™‚ At least in the blog world… haha!
The bad makes the good THAT much better! πŸ˜€
I just came to my page without being logged in and saw that there was a Hillary ad right below the post. Apparently I can’t avoid politics today if I tried *eyeroll*
Way to go with the laundry! Wish I could say the same… hahaha. And my dogs still need baths. Ha!

Ahhh I just read your comment reply to Stephanie and I am honored!!! I can’t even deal with politics. If you try to post something positive about one candidate, someone is going to comment either telling you how wrong you are, how horrible that candidate is, whatever. So even if you post something positive, someone else will drag it down. I roll my eyes at Trump supporters in my feed…but I don’t engage. No one is going to change someone else’s mind by Facebook arguing. This got way longer than I thought. Ha!

I SO needed this message today. I need it every day. Maybe I should print it and hang it on my bathroom mirror? My positive thing is that I did really well working out this week…and now it’s Friday and I’m taking it easy and eating garbage and it’s going to be awesome. πŸ™‚ Ha!

I can’t stand politics right now, either. I mean, I 1000000% dislike Tr*mp. But then people are like, “So you’re voting for Hillary?” No, technically no (just not Tr*mp). I just don’t even know what to do.
I’m glad I could deliver a much needed message πŸ™‚ Way to go on working out!! That’s awesome! I hope you enjoyed some yummy food this weekend!

    LOVE this!

Something “great” that has happened lately… last night, I got together with five other women, here at a pub in Sydney, and all of us are graduates of the same university back home. One has been here for 16 years, another has only been here a week. But, I think it is pretty special and “great” that my university has the kind of alumni that seeks each other out even half way around the world. Plus, the bartender gave me a free drink AND a free shot, so that was great too πŸ˜‰
