I’m linking up with Julie today with some open letters. Sadly, it’s the last time 😦
Dear Women,
Happy Equality Day! (I had no idea today was Women’s Equality Day when I wrote Wednesday’s post.) Keep fighting the fight. Climbing the ladders. Having the babies. Marrying men (or women) who see you as equal. (Or don’t do any other those things- it’s your choice!) Yay for women and men!
. . .
Dear Mama Bunny,
I don’t know how you got away with nesting in our backyard, but I’m very grateful that you moved your family under the cover of night last weekend. We discovered your babes last Thursday and kept the dogs away, but I wasn’t sure how long I could hold them off. Glad you sensed the danger and skedaddled!
. . .
Dear Husband,
I wanted to make a FB post or share a million IG pictures of you on Thursday night, but I knew you wouldn’t like that. Instead, I just want to publicly tell you how much I absolutely love you for calling me at work on Thursday and asking me to come home and help with the rabbits. A lesser man would’ve continued to mow and just forgotten about the furry family. You worried about them all weekend and helped me check up on them and keep the mutts from nosing around their home. I love you so much and I’m grateful every single day for you ❤︎
. . .
Dear Husband again,
I love being married to someone who buys us concert tickets for a show that happens on a work-night in a city two hours away. We don’t get much sleep when you spontaneously make those purchases, but I’d gladly trade sleep for nights out with you.
. . .
Dear Ben Rector,
You concert was worth the road trip + lack of sleep. You and Colony House didn’t disappoint. Maybe next time come to Ohio on a weekend…? That’d be great.
. . .
Dear Sports Night,
We were really holding out that you’d be as good as The West Wing or The Newsroom. You’re not… That laugh tract is totally unbearable. I guess we’ll be skipping that Aaron Sorkin production and moving on to the next one.
. . .
Have a great weekend, friends!
I’m glad Mamma Bunny has moved her babies somewhere safe! Maybe you’ll get to see them again when they’re a little more grown up!

Me too! The second the nest was vacant and I knew the babies were gone we let the dogs stick their big noses in there as a reward for leaving the babies alone. Haha!

Ben Rector was here last night.
Ahhh -what a good husband. I love when Ricky shows his love for animals too. Makes me love him more.

No way!! I recognized their name from a post by Julie at A Hopeful Hood, but other than that I had no knowledge about them! Ben always brings a good opening act 🙂 His shows are so awesome and intimate.

When I got home from work he had them wrangled in the dogs’ plastic swimming pool (sans water, lol). It took everything in me to put them back in the nest and not cuddle them. SO cute!!

I LOVE ME SOME BUNNIES! So glad they got away! Also, just realized Ben Rector is the guy who sings Brand New, right?! I loooove that song! I’m sure he has other stuff that just isn’t a huge radio hit and I’m totally missing out so I should probably look into that.

I’m really shocked that Lylee didn’t injure our bunnies!
He does sing that! You should check him out 🙂 He’s got some really great songs and he’s a hilarious performer!

When I was growing up we always found bunny nests in our backyard but usually the dog got to them first 😦 Thankfully our dogs only spooked them and we were able to get them back in their hole til mama came! 🙂
I THINK it came from Marshals but I honestly have so many I’m really not sure…. Marshalls feels right, though 😉

I was SO relieved to come out and see an empty nest 🙂 They were cute but I was WAY too stressed about our dogs leaving them alone. Haha!

Thanks, for hosting the link-up, Julie!
This was our second Ben Rector concert. Last time Judah & The Lion opened for him. They were great, too! If you ever get the chance to see Ben live you should go!

We were reminiscing about our youthful days of late night concerts and food afterward. After Wednesday’s concert we were ready for bed and nothing else! Haha! Concerts are something that we’ve done together since the start so I really love going with him any night of the week 🙂

I LOVE THIS WHOLE THING! You guys are too cute, and I am so happy that the bunny family was spared both the dogs and the lawn mower!! 🙂 So glad I’m not alone in crazy concert ticket purchases and road trips just to get there!! 🙂 Glad you had a great time! 🙂 XO – Alexandra

We were doing something totally unrelated and K goes, “Hey, I bought us concert tickets to two different concerts. Also, they’re in the middle of the week.” Hah. Usually he doesn’t do that without discussing it but I love both of the groups (Ben last week and Old Dominion in Sept.) so I let it slide. Haha!
