Let’s start off with some random thoughts, then we’ll move on to the typical “currently” one-liners.

I think in the real winner in Monday night’s debate was Snap Chat. All hail the face swap filter:

. . .

I saw this making its rounds on Facebook. I mean, it’s kind of a way to humble-brag about yourself in a humorous way, but I’m not above that 🙂

Pam Beesly from THE OFFICE | Louise Belcher from BOB’S BURGERS | Ainsley Hayes from THE WEST WING

. . .

For the last week I’ve been going on about how a Jumanji remake would be terrifying and awesome. I just discovered that Hollywood might actually be working it? I’m going to need royalties for my idea, guys…

On to the one-liners…

Reading… Cress (Marissa Meyer). But I plan to finish it up this weekend. Also, Peter Pan and The One.

Listening to… random chill playlists on Spotify. I downloaded the music player at work & it automatically pops up when I turn on my machine each morning. Usually I just click a random playlist and let it go all morning as background noise.

Watching… new Fall TV shows like This Is Us & Bull. I also watched the first episode of The Good Place and I plan to keep with that, too. And The Mindy Project starts again next week!

Playing… Toy Blast. It’s an app for iPhone that’s similar to Candy Crush. My 9 year old cousin got me hooked.

Working on… all our landscaping! I finally take that chore off my seasonal to-do list and K suddenly gets the energy to work on it. THANK YOU to my parents for helping us Sunday & Tuesday night!

*the mailbox post needs to be painted & the box replaced, plus river rock will be added to the flower beds! and a new porch light someday…

Looking forward to… our October Myrtle Beach get-away.

Feeling… like poop. UGH. On Tuesday night my sinuses revolted. On Wednesday I napped through my lunch hour & then went straight to bed after work. Thankfully it’s starting to clear up.

Missing… broccoli cheese soup from McDonald’s. Random, but the sick heart wants what it wants…

Dreading… finding health insurance 😦 My job doesn’t offer it and I lose my mom’s when I turn 26 next month. K has private ins. but his provider is leaving Ohio at the end of the year so we both need to hunt for new insurance. BLEH.

Praying about… the poor pitbulls and dogs that look like pitbulls because Montreal made a ridiculous, murderous, prejudice new law that sentences these dogs to death. Send me all the pitties- I’ll find them homes. Fear-mongering governments are on my last nerve. Please sign this petition requesting the ban be reversed. You can also register to foster or adopt a dog from the shelter!

Hey, the front door is finally painted!

*we still need to switch out the deadbolt for brushed nickel & I want to paint the window trim white!

That about sums it up. Tomorrow is OCTOBER & my heart is singing with joy! What’s new with you?

*Totally did this a week early, but I plan to link-up with Kristen & Gretch next Thursday 🙂

Oh, I love your fox doormat!!
    I can’t believe it’s October tomorrow. Eeep!

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 9:59 am

Thank you! I’m so glad it’s finally October!

  2. Julie Hood September 30, 2016 / 7:58 am

I love your front door mat!!! SO cute! And OMG PAM. Yes. And how are you reading THREE books at the same time?! So skilled!

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:00 am

To answer your question: Slowly. Haha. I’m reading them every slowly. I wanted to add another book (The Witches) because it’s October, but I’m determined to finish Cress first 🙂

  3. Elyse September 30, 2016 / 8:14 am

Haha I definitely think of Pam when I think of you! Is that weird? Maybe? I love that you also had a Bob’s Burgers character!

Sigh. not trying to be a downer but Quebec is known for not backing down from controversy, I doubt a petition will help because it’s like they don’t care how they are seen by Canada and the world. In Toronto there’s been a ban for 10 years, and I’ll admit it’s the one thing that surprised me moving was not seeing dogs in muzzles. I’m not advocating for the muzzles at all because it’s not the dog or dogs breed that make them bad, it’s the owners. Just my opinion on the petition.

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:03 am

Before we were dating, K always called me “Susan” after Amy Adams’ assistant character in Talladega Nights. I feel like they’re similar people 🙂

I actually saw that Montreal paused the ban! I need to refresh myself now to see what’s happening, but I know it’s not rare to breed discriminate. There’s a small local town near my that has a pit bull ban, but fortunately there are no shelters in that town.

  4. Stephanie September 30, 2016 / 9:39 am

My 3 are definitely Karen Walker, Max from 2 Broke Girls, and Emily Gilmore/Dowager Countess who really are super similar so it counts as one.

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:04 am

Hahaha, those are great characters! I can totally see all three in you 😉 the Dowager Countess is the best! Ha!

  5. Jess September 30, 2016 / 9:46 am

Aw, you guys’ house is so pretty! I want to try reading the Marissa Meyer books again. I read Cinder and for some reason didn’t enjoy it that much, but they look so interesting I want to give it another shot. I looked for that fox mat at Target and didn’t see it, which is probably a good thing since I have no room to store our current mat haha.

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:05 am

      Thank you!
Cinder was my least favorite so far (although still a good one). They get better as they go 🙂

**And CONGRATULATIONS on birthing a baby!! 😀

  6. Lindsay September 30, 2016 / 10:43 am

I love love love your house! I painted our front door that color a couple of years ago and I am so glad I did! And that rug is adorable, too. I’m so excited for Mindy to start next week! Have a great weekend!

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:06 am

Thank you! 🙂 The previous color was white and I was SO happy to cover it!

Did you watch TMP yet?? I loved it!

  7. SMD @ Life According to Steph September 30, 2016 / 11:20 am

I love a painted door. I have major outdoor work that needs to be done, but I think I’m going to get someone to winterize my beds this year.

Love your fictional character choices. But I hate the term and very notion of the humble brag, LOL. People should think well of themselves and not be afraid to say it! We don’t think twice about crapping on ourselves out loud.

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:08 am

I’ve been meaning to paint the door for years. We really let our flower beds go because we knew we’d be re-doing them soon. I am SO glad to have the front yard done now!

Ha, I used that phrase at the very last minute when I was proofing this post. You’re right though- if I feel like those people represent me then I shouldn’t doubt myself!

  8. Rebecca Jo (@RebeccaJoKnits) September 30, 2016 / 12:14 pm

I had no idea about that dog thing… I am sick. Literally sick. What is wrong with people. Fear is winning.

I love those fictional character things. SO many people, I’m like, YEAHHHH!!!

I think its the attack of sinuses on EVERYONE right now

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:09 am

Ugh, I still have residual sinus stuff (headaches, stuffy nose) but I think the worst of it has passed.

I read that there was a pause on the ban. I need to look into it a little more now!

  9. erin (everything with love) September 30, 2016 / 12:41 pm

    1) your characters are perfect.
    2) your fox doormat is also perfect.
    3) I am so sorry that you have to look for health insurance, it is the worst part of being an adult.
    happy weekend friend!

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:09 am

Thanks! Haha! And thanks! (I think I squealed when I saw that doormat in Target…)

Hope your week is going well!

  10. kathy @ more coffee, less talky September 30, 2016 / 1:54 pm

since our province (country?) banned lawn sprays, weeds have taken over the entire neighbourhood and it’s weed mayhem. i wish we could gain control over it so we could have nice landscaping!

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:13 am

Oh man… that’d be awful. We’re having a party on Friday so I need to go out and weed soon. The front yard looks fab but the driveway and backyard are rough.

  11. Nadine September 30, 2016 / 3:26 pm

Hahahaha that face swap is epic!!!! I need to get on the Meyer series. I keep meaning to but just haven’t yet. I loved This is Us and want to try The Good Place and also American Housewife when it comes out. I used to be obsessed with Toy Blast. I think I got stuck on a level or something and quit. I didn’t know Mcdonalds had soup?? I haven’t been there in years though so that doesn’t mean anything. Poor pitbulls get a bad rap and it makes me so sad. Hope you have a great weekend!

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:25 am

YOU NEED TO TRY McDONALD’S BROCCOLI CHEESE SOUP. It will change your life.

Definitely check out the Lunar Chronicles- and they get better as they go, too.
Toy Blast is ridiculous- I’m so mad that I’m hooked on it right now. Lol

  12. Mattie September 30, 2016 / 6:01 pm

So many things. Your front door looks AMAZING. I am at a loss as to what three fictional characters I would be. Michael listed his and he just listed all the best people and I was like, “What makes you like them? Are you sure these aren’t just your favorites?” Hahaha. Like Harry Potter was one. I wish I could remember the others. I haven’t watched Mindy since before it was on Hulu and I so desperately want to! I miss her! Especially now that we’re rewatching The Office. That BSL in Montreal is HORRIBLE. I wrote a paper about BSL in my very favorite class of college (Animals & The Law). I think they had it in Boulder or Denver or something, but I didn’t know they euthanize all of them in the shelters (maybe they didn’t there?). It’s disgusting. I just don’t understand the kind of ignorance that leads to that stupid decision. I signed two petitions and I really wish we could adopt like four dogs.

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:28 am

I’ll try to address everything 😉
Thank you! Originally I wanted red, but I’m glad we went with blue!
I spent three days coming up with characters! Hahaha! If it was characters I’d LIKE to be like, I’d have included Hermione 🙂
The Montreal case makes me so pissed. Especially since scientific evidence was produced in favor of pits. Fear won out, though. Ridiculous.
I’ve been working all weekend to convince K we need to get a pit from the Montreal shelters!

  13. Olya @ The Siberian American September 30, 2016 / 6:10 pm

I LOVE your house. So pretty. Your fox doormat is adorable! I loved all the SnapChat debate stuff too. It made it much more fun to watch.

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:30 am

Thanks, Olya! The flower beds were looking rough before but I’m so happy with how it’s all turned out!

  14. Emily (@embergreyblog) September 30, 2016 / 6:18 pm

These are my favorite posts to read from you 🙂 Your house is SO darling!! I absolutely love the color of your door.

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:52 am

Thank you, Emily 🙂 I’m so happy to have a colorful door now! The white just wasn’t working for me.

  15. StephTheBookworm September 30, 2016 / 9:50 pm

I love your house and your porch! My next house needs to have a porch. It’s a requirement… for real lol.

I’m so excited about The Mindy Project. It’s one of my favorites. She is so funny.

I’m just sick over the pit bulls. It’s devastating and heartbreaking and ugh.

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:53 am

Thank you! A front porch, a big kitchen, and a decent laundry room were all on the “must” list when we started house hunting 🙂

I’m so happy to have TMP back! Did you watch the first episode yesterday??

  16. texerinsydney September 30, 2016 / 11:29 pm

You know I’m a dog lover. When living in Texas, I regularly heard about bites, attacks, maulings by pit bulls. I admit it…I was nervous around them when I saw one at the local park where I walked my dog. Living here, there are MANY dogs from these breeds. I see them regularly in my neighborhood. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sally & Dolly have a little in their mix. You know what? I’ve heard of ONE incident in almost 8 years. The culture of dog fighting and aggression training just doesn’t exist here, so these dogs here aren’t trained or bred for that. An example that in my personal experience I’ve seen that it’s not the dog, it’s the owners.

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:58 am

The fear is absolutely embedded in our society from dog fighting rings. I can’t f*cking understand people that fight dogs. It makes me RAGE. I want to rip their hearts out and run over their faces. There are quite a few crimes I could empathize with if I really really had to. Dog fighting is not one of them. When I’ve seen dogs unintentionally fight it makes my stomach turn. People that do it intentionally are monsters. I will never forgive Michael Vick. POS.

  17. chelseajacobs October 1, 2016 / 8:38 pm

THAT LAW. GARBAGE. GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE. I’m sorry you’ve been sick! I hope you feel better soon!

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:58 am

I know 😦 😦 😦 And thank you! I think I’m on the mend now!

  18. Lux G. October 2, 2016 / 11:45 pm

    Hope you feel better soon.
Most of the time lately, I’d cut myself off from what’s happening in the world. The news are frustrating.

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 11:08 am

      Thank you!
I changed my homepage from MSN to Google because I was tired of constantly opening my browser to bad news.

  19. lifeasunusuals October 3, 2016 / 11:00 am

Oh a Jumanji remake would be weird… I really enjoyed the original though, I haven’t seen it for years!

How are you liking Cress? I have that series on my Kindle but I haven’t read any of them yet. I feel like it’s something I would enjoy, I just haven’t got around to it. Like every other book on my Kindle haha.

It’s so sad about the ban that Montreal have passed… I mean “dogs that look like pit balls”, how ridiculous is that… who even gets to decide that! The whole thing is ridiculous and we’re punishing innocent animals for something humans have created, again.

Good luck with finding the health insurance! I’m so glad that there’s only one or two people here that do health insurance so we don’t have to worry about that.

Feel better soon! Sinus pain is the worst!

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 11:10 am

I really enjoyed Cress (well, I have 50 pages left…). Scarlet was awesome, too. Cinder is good, but not my favorite of the three.

Health Ins. is current the bane of my existence. UGH!

  20. simplyalexandra12 October 3, 2016 / 12:53 pm

ugh, ew on the health insurance. That’s no fun at all! 😦 Good luck! I am also super sad/angry with Montreal… 😦 I liked Cress a lot, I hope you enjoy it. 🙂 I LOVE LOVE LOVE your door! It looks GREAT! Also, oooh for Myrtle Beach! I’ve never been! XO – Alexandra

    Simply Alexandra: My Favorite Things

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:12 am

You’ve never been to Myrtle Beach?! I think I’ve been there more years than I haven’t (if that made sense…). I keep putting off the health ins. thing but I’m starting to cut it close. UGH.

    • Louise October 5, 2016 / 10:11 am

Thank you 🙂 We have the river rock in now & there are pumpkins on the porch so now I’m super in love 🙂

  21. kristen October 6, 2016 / 12:40 pm

oh those poor dogs 😦 that is so, so sad. i have a pittie cross staffie (i think, he’s kind of a mutt but definitely some sort of pit bull in there) at home, and when my brother brought him home i was scared – but he is the most stupid, adorable, biggest softie nutty dog you’ve ever met. i cannot imagine life without him no. he and my golden retriever get along like a house on fire.
love the doormat and the fancy front door! so pretty.
boo to health insurance. that is the worst! we are very lucky that my job offers it now, we had to do the buy our own for several years and it sucked balls.

    • Louise October 9, 2016 / 8:55 pm

They’ve suspended the ban, which is a good start 🙂 I think pitties always look so tough but all the ones I’ve met have been the biggest softies ❤
Thank you! I need to get on the ins. thing this week. UGH.
