For the last week I’ve been going on about how a Jumanji remake would be terrifying and awesome. I just discovered that Hollywood might actually be working it? I’m going to need royalties for my idea, guys…
On to the one-liners…
Reading… Cress (Marissa Meyer). But I plan to finish it up this weekend. Also, Peter Pan and The One.
Listening to… random chill playlists on Spotify. I downloaded the music player at work & it automatically pops up when I turn on my machine each morning. Usually I just click a random playlist and let it go all morning as background noise.
Watching… new Fall TV shows like This Is Us & Bull. I also watched the first episode of The Good Place and I plan to keep with that, too. And The Mindy Project starts again next week!
Playing… Toy Blast. It’s an app for iPhone that’s similar to Candy Crush. My 9 year old cousin got me hooked.
Working on… all our landscaping! I finally take that chore off my seasonal to-do list and K suddenly gets the energy to work on it. THANK YOU to my parents for helping us Sunday & Tuesday night!
Looking forward to… our October Myrtle Beach get-away.
Feeling… like poop. UGH. On Tuesday night my sinuses revolted. On Wednesday I napped through my lunch hour & then went straight to bed after work. Thankfully it’s starting to clear up.
Missing… broccoli cheese soup from McDonald’s. Random, but the sick heart wants what it wants…
Dreading… finding health insurance 😦 My job doesn’t offer it and I lose my mom’s when I turn 26 next month. K has private ins. but his provider is leaving Ohio at the end of the year so we both need to hunt for new insurance. BLEH.
Praying about… the poor pitbulls and dogs that look like pitbulls because Montreal made a ridiculous, murderous, prejudice new law that sentences these dogs to death. Send me all the pitties- I’ll find them homes. Fear-mongering governments are on my last nerve. Please sign this petition requesting the ban be reversed. You can also register to foster or adopt a dog from the shelter!

Sigh. not trying to be a downer but Quebec is known for not backing down from controversy, I doubt a petition will help because it’s like they don’t care how they are seen by Canada and the world. In Toronto there’s been a ban for 10 years, and I’ll admit it’s the one thing that surprised me moving was not seeing dogs in muzzles. I’m not advocating for the muzzles at all because it’s not the dog or dogs breed that make them bad, it’s the owners. Just my opinion on the petition.

I actually saw that Montreal paused the ban! I need to refresh myself now to see what’s happening, but I know it’s not rare to breed discriminate. There’s a small local town near my that has a pit bull ban, but fortunately there are no shelters in that town.

Aw, you guys’ house is so pretty! I want to try reading the Marissa Meyer books again. I read Cinder and for some reason didn’t enjoy it that much, but they look so interesting I want to give it another shot. I looked for that fox mat at Target and didn’t see it, which is probably a good thing since I have no room to store our current mat haha.

I love a painted door. I have major outdoor work that needs to be done, but I think I’m going to get someone to winterize my beds this year.
Love your fictional character choices. But I hate the term and very notion of the humble brag, LOL. People should think well of themselves and not be afraid to say it! We don’t think twice about crapping on ourselves out loud.

I’ve been meaning to paint the door for years. We really let our flower beds go because we knew we’d be re-doing them soon. I am SO glad to have the front yard done now!

Ugh, I still have residual sinus stuff (headaches, stuffy nose) but I think the worst of it has passed.

since our province (country?) banned lawn sprays, weeds have taken over the entire neighbourhood and it’s weed mayhem. i wish we could gain control over it so we could have nice landscaping!

Hahahaha that face swap is epic!!!! I need to get on the Meyer series. I keep meaning to but just haven’t yet. I loved This is Us and want to try The Good Place and also American Housewife when it comes out. I used to be obsessed with Toy Blast. I think I got stuck on a level or something and quit. I didn’t know Mcdonalds had soup?? I haven’t been there in years though so that doesn’t mean anything. Poor pitbulls get a bad rap and it makes me so sad. Hope you have a great weekend!

So many things. Your front door looks AMAZING. I am at a loss as to what three fictional characters I would be. Michael listed his and he just listed all the best people and I was like, “What makes you like them? Are you sure these aren’t just your favorites?” Hahaha. Like Harry Potter was one. I wish I could remember the others. I haven’t watched Mindy since before it was on Hulu and I so desperately want to! I miss her! Especially now that we’re rewatching The Office. That BSL in Montreal is HORRIBLE. I wrote a paper about BSL in my very favorite class of college (Animals & The Law). I think they had it in Boulder or Denver or something, but I didn’t know they euthanize all of them in the shelters (maybe they didn’t there?). It’s disgusting. I just don’t understand the kind of ignorance that leads to that stupid decision. I signed two petitions and I really wish we could adopt like four dogs.

The Montreal case makes me so pissed. Especially since scientific evidence was produced in favor of pits. Fear won out, though. Ridiculous.

You know I’m a dog lover. When living in Texas, I regularly heard about bites, attacks, maulings by pit bulls. I admit it…I was nervous around them when I saw one at the local park where I walked my dog. Living here, there are MANY dogs from these breeds. I see them regularly in my neighborhood. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sally & Dolly have a little in their mix. You know what? I’ve heard of ONE incident in almost 8 years. The culture of dog fighting and aggression training just doesn’t exist here, so these dogs here aren’t trained or bred for that. An example that in my personal experience I’ve seen that it’s not the dog, it’s the owners.

The fear is absolutely embedded in our society from dog fighting rings. I can’t f*cking understand people that fight dogs. It makes me RAGE. I want to rip their hearts out and run over their faces. There are quite a few crimes I could empathize with if I really really had to. Dog fighting is not one of them. When I’ve seen dogs unintentionally fight it makes my stomach turn. People that do it intentionally are monsters. I will never forgive Michael Vick. POS.

How are you liking Cress? I have that series on my Kindle but I haven’t read any of them yet. I feel like it’s something I would enjoy, I just haven’t got around to it. Like every other book on my Kindle haha.
It’s so sad about the ban that Montreal have passed… I mean “dogs that look like pit balls”, how ridiculous is that… who even gets to decide that! The whole thing is ridiculous and we’re punishing innocent animals for something humans have created, again.
Good luck with finding the health insurance! I’m so glad that there’s only one or two people here that do health insurance so we don’t have to worry about that.

I really enjoyed Cress (well, I have 50 pages left…). Scarlet was awesome, too. Cinder is good, but not my favorite of the three.

oh those poor dogs 😦 that is so, so sad. i have a pittie cross staffie (i think, he’s kind of a mutt but definitely some sort of pit bull in there) at home, and when my brother brought him home i was scared – but he is the most stupid, adorable, biggest softie nutty dog you’ve ever met. i cannot imagine life without him no. he and my golden retriever get along like a house on fire.

boo to health insurance. that is the worst! we are very lucky that my job offers it now, we had to do the buy our own for several years and it sucked balls.
