I had a different post lined up for today but a) I just want to ramble and b) I haven’t quite finished it yet…
Last month I read ‘The Art of Racing in the Rain’ and it mentioned Formula One race tracks all over the US/world. One of those tracks is about two hours from me but we’ve never been there. Then, at the beginning of this week, my brother called and said his work gave him 8 tickets to the Indy car races at that track! I don’t know why, but it feels so cool to have read about the sport and the tracks, and now I get to go to one!
K and I are obsessed with Bravo’s Below Deck Mediterranean. We watch the new episodes on Tuesday nights and we know all the crew members’ backstories and we actually discuss the show. It’s embarrassingly satisfying. Hahaha.
I didn’t know it was possible to be this mentally and physically exhausted without the involvement of college, children, or holidays. July has 100% kicked our bootys- professionally and personally.
Our dogs killed a nest full of rabbits on Friday. The main reason this sucks is because 6 bunnies lost their lives. Secondary reasons this sucks are because a) I can’t tell if Enzo is moody or if he’s sick from noshing on bunnies and b) trash day is on Thursday… so our trashcan is not smelling its freshest and it makes the driveway area quite heinous.
*Fortunately the trash truck came today.
A few days ago I went to Starbucks to get K and I drinks. I also had a free reward. Well, they 100% botched mine. The guy scanned my phone at the window and then tried to hand me the wrong drink order. I corrected him and he blushed and admitted he was flustered and handed me the two I’d ordered (although one was totally wrong). Regardless, I asked if I still owned him since he only scanned for the reward drink. He shrugged and told me to forget it. Lol. I still feel like my experience was a win.
Guys. It’s so hot & I hate summer. (Don’t stone me- I’ve tried to like it, I swear.) I just want to sit in front of an a/c vent in a sports bra and underwear and drink icy drinks. (Let’s remember I live in Ohio. If I was a southerner I think I’d actually die.) Please, oh please let fall kick in early this year…
*My grandparents had a large in-ground pool when I was growing up. When they sold that house my hatred for summer was born. I know that makes me spoiled. Sorry.
At the end of August K is playing (in a band) with an Elvis impersonator. I don’t know why I find that so amusing (especially since he’s done it before), but I do. Also, it’s an outdoor concert at our local park and I’m really excited to fill a water bottle with wine and sit on the lawn and listen to him π
Ok. That’s all I’ve got. Tell me about your weekend plans! I’m hoping in the car with one best friend to go celebrate another best friend at her engagement party! Woot woot!
it’s only be 2 days so far that we’ve had sunny hot summer-like weather; the rest of the days has been rain and clouds and gloomy π¦

Let’s switch weather!
(Actually it stormed a lot all last week. But it was also hot. It’s just been a crappy-weather summer.)

OH MY GOSH girl I feel ya with that rotting trash before trash day rolls around….a squirrel died in our trash can (it’s not a long story, literally it was sitting on top of our trash bags, dead) and it smelled SO bad even after they took our trash!! Hope your pup feels better…

Yes… the trashcans still freakin’ smell. They’ve been banished to the other side of the driveway. ICK.
(He’s perked up. He’ll be fine π Thanks!)

Oh Enzo. Hopefully he is feeling better. And maybe a tad regretful. π I’m glad they took your trash. I can imagine it smelling a bit rank. I’m not a big fan of summer either because hot is not pleasant. I always pay homage to the air conditioning goddess too. Have fun with your friends!

Hahaha- Enzo is doing much better. My mom has a rabbit that Enz plays really nicely with so I’m hoping when he saw her on Thursday he felt a little regretful about the bunnies π
Ugh. The trashcan still smells… *bleh!* It’s been banished to the other side of the driveway until I get a free weekend to hose it out. Haha!

I also hate summer. I hate it less at the shore, but even there I prefer early summer or spring and fall. Summer…it’s not really for me. LOL
I adore seeing and doing things I’ve read about in books. Or conversely reading about something in a book that I have seen or done in real life.

Fall is pretty much the best ever anywhere. Hahaha.
It feels so fulfilling to visit a place from the books I’ve read! I’m really excited for the weekend!!

Move to Scotland – I’m all cosy under a throw right now π Bit traumatised about the bunnies, but I guess that’s the circle of life?!

Oh man… I would love some of that European weather π
I’d prefer my dogs NOT partake in the circle of life. Hahahaha!

I don’t hate summer, but I can’t tolerate the heat anymore. 10 minutes under the sun and I’m ready to go inside, in a body of water, or at least in the shade. I love the *idea* of summer, and I love that there are tons of fun things to do outside during the summer. I just wish I could also do them in 70-degree weather and 0% humidity.

It’s the humidity that’s the real killer =/ When we were at the beach I was a big fan of reading under the cabana shade, then swimming for 20 minutes or so in the sun. I can handle heat when there’s lots of shade, some water, and NO humidity. Haha!

It makes me sad that you hate summer BUT I cannot imagine going through summer without a pool…so I feel like I better understand this now.

If I hadn’t grown up in a pool I might not have the serious aversion that I do… I’m going to blame my grandparents π Lol

Yup, not a fan of the heat or summer either. UGH! I don’t really like the snow either though. I basically want to live in the fall ALL THE TIME.
Aw, poor bunnies. π¦ That had to be hard to see.

I looooove snow π Essentially summer and spring are my version of hell. Hahaha. Bugs, heat, humidity, thunderstorms (b/c of Lylee), etc. Bring on the leaves and the flurries π
My big strong hubby called me home from work to clean up the carnage. *eyeroll* I was also the one that had to deal with the snake in the yard a few weeks ago. Lol

ohhhhhnooooo – bunnies.
We had a dead bird in our garbage can a few weeks ago – I couldnt make myself toss our garbage in there. Ricky was like, Just throw it in, you dont have to look… I was like, I dont want to smash it. I dont want to disrespect it. I was a mess about it. haha

It kills me to throw them away π¦ I want to bury them or something, but I know my dogs will just dig them up. When we eventually get to the country I will have a little area for them (as I’m sure it’ll happen again *sigh*).

Kyle’s dad plays bass for an Elvis impersonator throughout the year so K has filled in with that band throughout his life. The ones he’s filling in for in August is a new (to me) one, but fortunately K already knows all the songs. Haha!

Mac got a hold of a bird once. Don’t ask me how that even happened??? I was worried for like two weeks that he was going to be sick from it but he seemed fine after. Dude I HATE the summer heat. Our weather station on the counter is currently telling us it feels like 111 degrees outside. WTF???

Ugh. The humidity is what gets me. My skin hates it, my hair hates it, everything on me hates it. So I don’t want to get dress up or do anything with my hair or anything. Lol
I’m just a complainer… haha. We haven’t hit “feels like 111” yet so I should shut up. Ha!
