Let’s get into this life update, shall we?

Thinking about 100% of the time… selling the house. When the buyers (who’d put in an offer 2 days after our house was listed and had us cancel our first Open House) backed out of the contract K and I felt pretty defeated. We’re not discouraged, just let down. I promise we’re trying to bounce back and stay positive.

Working on… Chelsea and Ryan‘s 31 Days of Kindness! It’s not too late to join in!

Reading… four different stories at the moments… I’m making my way through Erin’s Challenge, slowly but surely.

Listening to… a lot of country music. Especially Kenny Chesney. He’s my feel-good artist of the summer. We saw Incubus & Jimmy Eat World last week so I’ve been mixing a little alternative rock in, too.

Watching… nothing really. I’m getting my film list ready for Jenn’s challenge and I just shared the Fall shows I’m looking forward to.

Loving… the cool evening temperatures around these parts. I sleep with the windows open when it dips below 70* and I love it!

Hating… loud neighbors, contrary house hunters, the p.o.s. potus, half-ass sunscreen, drama, stress, ticks, keeping the house in pristine condition for last minute showings.

Experiencing… summer concerts, races at Mid-Ohio raceway, outdoor parties and bar-hopping.

Planning… so many things. Bridal showers & Bachelorette parties, a potential lake-day, business trips for this fall & winter, a Halloween party (WOO!), Christmas gifts, etc.

Wanting… kayaks for the husband and I.

Craving… a fall getaway. I’m thinking maybe a girls’ trip, but I haven’t reached out to anyone yet…

Eating… cherries! I freaking love cherries.

Drinking… sweet wine or amaretto & rootbeer because my aunt-in-law has me hooked.

Looking forward to… being in a new house with some warm sunlit rooms and quiet neighbors 😉

  1. Incubus!! I was supposed to see them years ago but the concert was cancelled due to illness. They hardly ever come to Europe so I still haven’t managed to actually see them.

When I was younger I was a fan of Incubus, but last week I really enjoyed Jimmy Eat World. They are SO dang talented! (Of course Incubus is, too.)

I hate it, too. It definitely ruined my day when I found out. Nothing to do but bounce back, though, I guess!
I was pricing them out yesterday at Dick’s! I’m so excited to get K in the store to pick two out!

  4. ugh the loud neighbours are the worst. I had to call the city by-law enforcement twice this year because they were being such rude aholes and playing basketball at 12am! WTF.

We call the cops two or three times a month on this dude 9esp. in the summer). And K has even tried talking to him and he’s like, “You can’t hear my music in your house.” Um. Sir. You literally shake the dishes. Such a turddd.

Amaretto and root beer???? I am intrigued! I love amaretto sours. I my favorite wine is sweet wines too. There is this local blush that I am obsessed with. Stay positive, another buyer will come along. The housing market is a crazy ride. Holla to all the cherries right now!!! I have been buying a bag every week since the price dropped.

  8. I have 2 vacation days that aren’t allocated anywhere yet for the year, so I’m hoping to do something fun with them. Thinking I may save one for a long day hike during fall since my husband and I often have different schedules, I could take off a random weekday and spend with him – we have a 12 mile hike we’ve been wanting to cross our bucket list FOREVER, and it’s the perfect FALL hike!

But no idea what to do with the other day.

Clicked over from What’s New With You. 🙂

  9. I LOVE cherries, especially Ranier cherries. So, so good! Again, so sorry that your house buyer backed out but I know you’ll get another great offer! Loud neighbors are the worst. Years ago I had one who would play music so loudly late at night. GRRRRR …. I am always impressed when people read multiple books at the same time. I can’t do that, unless one is non-fiction. Otherwise I get confused. 😀

I was carrying three books around the house with me last night and alternating between them. They’re all super different, though, so it doesn’t mess me up 😉
Nothing makes me more angry than when I get home, settling into the backyard to read, and the neighbor starts blasting his music. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

  16. Buying / Selling a house is soooo all-consuming! I felt the same way last fall when we moved. It was all I could think about and made me so stressed. Keeping the house clean all the time is the worst! We had our first offer fall through but ended up with a better one so I’m hoping the same happens for you, and soon!

Oooh- I’m going to channel your experience. Haha. It’s seriously so consuming, though. It takes up my time, brain, energy, etc. Lol. Please oh please let there be a pay off in the end! Ha!

uuugh i forgot you canceled the open house because they put an offer on! damn them! but better things to come. i’ve never had to sell house, only buy (in an INSANE market) so i can only imagine the other end. hang tough!
