A Crisp Morning Coffee Talk

I show up for our coffee dates about every 2 months it seems. I’m a little late with this one. Oops!

Linking up with Kristen for What’s New With You? today.

If we were sitting down for coffee I’d have to lament about the end of my favorite month. October kicks off the best quarter of the year (in my opinion) and it’s always bittersweet to say goodbye to the month. But I’m excited that the holidays are around the corner!

If we were having coffee I’d admit that I’m still recovering from our quick 5 day trip to Daufuskie Island, SC. My best friend & I drove through the night (Wednesday) to surprise our other best friend, who was on vacation with her girlfriend. We had been planning it for months and the surprise was perfect. Our time on the island was so relaxing. Here’s a link to the super quick video of the surprise: https://splice.gopro.com/v?id=yPjm4K

While sipping on our pumpkin lattes or maple coffees I’d probably gush about some of my birthday gifts. K got me tickets to see the Columbus orchestra play at a screening of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban ๐Ÿ™‚ My mother-in-law spoils me with a week of birthday gifts and some of my absolute favorites this year included this pillow, this skirt, and this wine stopper!

I’d also share about the new underwear I just got! (A little weird, I know, but what better way to end 2018 than cleaning out your delicates drawer and adding some comfy, quality undergarments?) Tommy Johns Underwear reached out to me a few weeks ago and set me up with some ah. may. zing. underwear. So soft and comfortable, dang near invisible, and it stays in place. I got a pair of their Cool Cotten Cheeky, Second Skin Brief, and Air Cheeky. I’m not kidding when I say I love these styles and all three materials!

When draining our adorably fall coffee mugs I’d ask if you’re participating in NaNoWriMo this year. I’ve done it every year, but never to completion. I’d really like to push myself to do it this yearโ€ฆ I haven’t decided which novel idea to conquer, though.

Before we pull on our coats and dig for our keys I’d ask about your holiday plans. Are you doing anything fun for Thanksgiving? We have a business trip this month, then we’re spending a little bit of time in Williamsburg on a family vacation. I love historic little villages & I’m super excited. November is kind of crazy for us and I’m hoping for a slower December. How about you?

Sigh. I guess our coffee date would have to come to a close nowโ€ฆ I’d head back to work & hopefully you’d head off and do something fun (like an apple orchard or pumpkin patch- fall isn’t over yet!).

Share with me what you’ve been doing this fall & tell me about your early winter plans!

That’s so cool that Tommy John reached out to you! I heard of them on a podcast but was a bit surprised about how great they really are for the price haha. I’m also a huge fan of October because it means Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner!

Iโ€™m sad to see October end, too! Itโ€™s my favorite month and like you said, itโ€™s kind of the beginning of all the festivities! I think itโ€™s so fun you surprised your friend. What did you think of the island? We always go to HHI but never ventured over there!

I feel like October went so fast! That was crazy!
Daufuskie was so laid back and friendly and slow paced. I really loved it. I only wished we’d have gone when it was warmer! Lol

That’s so fun that you surprised one of your friends! And I’m with you – it’s a bit bittersweet that October is over. Definitely my favorite month. Now I really need to focus on what to get people for Christmas, though I have a couple things, so it’s a start! I SO need to see a Harry Potter orchestra; the third movie is my favorite, so that’s the one I really hope to see at some point. What a fantastic birthday gift! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. I can’t believe 2018 is almost over. It’s strange because on one hand, time seems to be moving painfully slow and yet zipping by so fast too. ๐Ÿ˜€ Glad you had a great birthday and lots of amazing fits. And what a fun way to cap off your favorite month by hanging out with friends!

I love fall!! November is one of my favorite months. I think we’re going to have a crazy December between my family coming to visit and two trips that Nick and I are trying to plan, plus all of the holiday craziness. We always host Thanksgving, which is really more like Friendsgiving. It’s my favorite holiday and I’m really excite for this year. I’ve never done NaNoWriMo. I always want to but I’ve never had a buddy and then I always get so busy with November things.

oh, the orchestra sounds so amazing! and no joke, i’m always looking for better underwear. i’m very picky and have, well, a big butt. lol. i’ve never participated in NaNoWriMo but each year i think, well hey, maybe? but i’m not a writer, so i just pick up a book to read instead. i feel like we are not busy people, but the holidays are always busy no matter what, even with only one of us having family we can see, if that makes sense. work parties, friends, family, it all adds up and i feel like we don’t get a break until january. we already have 3 separate people and separate visits in november and december and is it january yet?! lol. i don’t do well when busy.

I feel like the older I get, the more worn out I get from trips, but that just makes them that much more worth it! And talk about a great birthday present! I’ve been dying to go to the symphony and hear the music live one day!

I agree. I like traveling, but as I get older I kind of like staying home almost just as much ๐Ÿ˜‰ I LOVE going to watch live music. I think it’s so emotional ๐Ÿ™‚
