45 Questions (minus 35)

– tap – tap – tap – Is this thing on?

I unintentionally skipped blogging last week. Partially because I was unmotivated and partially because, like the rest of the world, I was going out of my mind.

Now that I’m adjusting to this eternal state of insanity, I guess life can continue as “usual.”

I found this article and, while I’m not trying to get any of y’all to fall in love with me, I thought some these would be some great blog questions! Also… I only picked out 10. I was just too lazy to change the post image 😆

1 | Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
Kelly Clarkson, Chrissy Teigen, & Olivia Munn.

2 | Would you like to be famous? In what way?
Only as an author!

3 | When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else?
…when was I last by myself? Lol. I sing to M all the time. Sometimes it’s a real song, sometimes it’s not, most of the time it’s a hybrid. Most recently it was The Circle of Life with many misspoken Swahilian words.

4 | Name three things you and your partner appear to have in common.
We have a similar sense of humor. We have a similar definition of loyalty. We have a similar love of dogs, cars, & justice.

5 | If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be?
A real ability- being bilingual with serial languages. A superhuman ability- teleportation.

6 | What does friendship mean to you?
It means loving someone like family- maybe even more. Knowing that you will always be in their corner- even if that means delivering tough love and hard truths. It means celebrating the big and small moments, grieving the tough times, and knowing they would obviously help bury the body because they were there for the crime.

7 | Your house, containing everything you own, catches fire. After saving your loved ones and pets, you have time to safely make a final dash to save any one item. What would it be? Why?
My stuffed bunny from my childhood… his name is Bunny (#creativechild) & he lives on the bookshelf in our bedroom.

8 | What is your most treasured memory?
Our wedding reception, playing trains and cars and in the sandbox with my brother when we were kids, M being born and K’s utter joy at her arrival, bringing home each of our dogs.

9 | What is your most terrible memory?
I have three (one is a dream that used to haunt me when I was young). All of them are of someone or a dog dying and me witnessing it. Two did actually happen to me and the dream was reoccurring and terrible.

10 | Do you have a secret hunch about how you will die?
Nope. Do other people have these hunches? I have no idea… I’m hoping old age & in my sleep.

I’m going to get back to business soon… I want to write more Talk Baby 2 Me posts (hello finished nursery), I have some book reviews for the next SUYB (yay!), & I want to recap our NOLA trip from last freaking summer (yikes)- but this is what I came up with today.

What would you say to these questions?

  1. My answer to the “what one thing would you grab in a fire” question is easy now. I have a small box with the only memories we have of the boys – ultrasound printouts and sympathy cards mainly. So I would take that. Sorry Nick (childhood stuffed animal), I guess you’re getting left to burn!

That’s a very very sweet object to grab. I thought about grabbing M’s favorite toy but I’m going to assume she has a death grip on it as she’s existing the building.
Whether or not you saved the box, those memories and your love for the boys would live on and on ❤

Your writing is 1,000% what I needed today. Yesterday sucked but reading a post that starts with “tap-tap-tap is this thing on” and includes the death wish of “old age and in my sleep” WAS HILARIOUS AND PERFECT. Love this and love you.

Ughhh. Sucky days are especially sucky during this isolation era. Sigh. Glad I could add some giggles to your day! ❤ ❤ ❤

    LOL – I like this – minus 35
An author is really a good way to be famous – no one hounds you but you can all the benefit of fame… I like it

Haha… no one has time for 45 questions! Well… maybe we do right now… lol.

Oh man. I think I’d even use a fake name. Haha. I like my privacy.

  4. I think Chrissy Teigen and Kelly Clarkson would make awesome dinner guests (nothing wrong with Olivia – I just don’t “know” her very well) and I would want Chrissy to cook dinner too, which is probably rude but I don’t care. 😀 I am not a terribly sentimental person and since I got Max to safety, I’d grab my laptop because that probably has the most valuable stuff. And to be fair, my Mom takes so many pics that she’d have anything I needed and my Buddy Bear is at my family home too. 😀 Oh wait! I have a box with the ashes of my beloved Emeril (cat), some of his hair, and sympathy cards and I would take that before my computer.

I just love those gals!! Oh man… I didn’t even think about Chrissy cooking dinner! GREAT idea!
We’ve always buried our pets and K’s childhood babies are in ashes at his parents so they’d be safe 😉

I still have my care bear from when I was 3. Zoe asked if she could have it, and I was like ummm no. LOL. I did give her my other 20 that I had. But this one is special, and looks super worn/delicate. Being famous as an author would be fabulous!

Okay first off, I still have London posts to write and share and that was three and a half years ago so you’re fine. LOL

This was fun though! I wish I could speak different languages. I’ve taken French and Spanish, but it just never really stuck – too bad I didn’t start when I was young. I had a dream once where my mom died – thank goodness it wasn’t reoccurring, but it was so vivid and sad. I don’t normally remember my dreams much. I would totally have dinner with Kelly Clarkson and Chrissy Teigen!

Hahaha. Might as well write & post them now that we can’t travel at all!

I took German in high school and Japanese in college. The only language that has stuck has been the minimal Swiss-German my mom taught me when I was 7 before we went to Switzerland for two weeks. Lol
