“Everyday” is actually a stretch… I would say 4 or 5 days a week is more accurate. Before M was born, these products (and more!) were applied every single day. But still… these are my go-to make up items. I did a post like this in 2017. It’s funny how much I’ve paired it down. That said, there are still some things from 2017 that I use today.
Before I apply anything, I spray my face with Too Faced Hangover 3-in-1 spray. I notice a difference in my foundations longevity and finish when I forget this step.
Next up is Bare Mineral Complexion Rescue. I love the SPF 30 in it.
I brush a little NYX Stay Matte Powder on my cheeks, chin, and forehead. Then finish it all off with It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Setting Powder.
I still use Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer when I’m feeling fancy. Also, if I plan to use eyeliner or eyeshadow I will apply Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer to my lids before I brush on the finishing powder.
*trust me when I say I, too, hate how expensive this stuff is… but if it works, it works.
Ok, that takes care of the basic foundation.
Next up are brows. NYX Tinted Eyebrow Mascara is the JAM. I love this stuff for quick brow definition. For mascara I usually stick to Essence Princess Lashes and Get BIG Lashes but my mom got me some fancier ones for Christmas: Tarte Maneater and Too Faced Better Than Sex.
When I use it, eyeliner of choice is NYX Matte Liquid Liner and eyeshadow is Urban Decay Naked3 Palette.
If I’m in a hurry/don’t care, I just do Complexion Rescue, setting powder, and mascara. M loves sitting on the sink counter and watching me. She pretends to put on lipstick and loves to have her face tickled with the brushes. Sometimes I apply make up just for the bonding time π
I imagine COVID has changed everyone’s make-up routine. It definitely put mine on pause and made me reevaluate what I really needed on my bathroom vanity. Do you have any tried-and-true staples that you use?
I wear make up for special occasions. That’s it. Occasionally I’ll randomly put on some lipstick if I’m in the mood but not right now since we still have to wear masks in the only places I go (supermarket, fertility clinic, public transport). I’m too lazy to apply make up to buy groceries π. And I don’t even own foundation or powder anymore! The last time I had full make up with foundation and everything was my sister’s wedding where I was a bridesmaid. If I ever have a daughter I imagine she’ll despair of me, especially in her teens π.

My best friend is the same way! I love fun bold lipstick and long lashes. I’ve always had pretty bad acne and only recently has it gotten better/I’ve cared a lot less about covering it. So while I still do the whole routine, it’s more for me and less for covering up blemishes π
I don’t remember watching my mom do her make-up. I know she wears it, but I’m totally self-taught. Your daughter will be fine π

I’m pretty bad when it comes to makeup. I don’t wear it everyday. For mascara, I do love the one from the Honest Company. I feel like it goes on really well for me!

That’s not bad! You just don’t need it or maybe don’t enjoy it! Nothing wrong with that. More and more I find myself going without make-up. I like it, but it does take time and money. Haha. Mascara helps me to look a little more awake, though, so you’ll usually see that on my face at least!

I LOVE those princess lashes. I think everyone does! Sometimes it’s really hard to get a hold of!

Love this! Since masks have been mandatory in healthcare, Iβve been doing less and less each day.

Makes total sense. I got a lot better at doing my eyeliner when masks first arrived on the scene.

I used to love to watch my mom apply makeup! As an adult, I do hardly any of that myself. I am mascara, under eye concealer, and lipstick through and through. The only thing I do different for like weddings is eyeliner LOL. I do like eyeshadow, I just rarely wear it. I’ve never been a face makeup person and have only had someone touch my eye brows with makeup when I’ve been in weddings.

I never watched my mom do it so it’s funny to me that M likes to sit and watch me/play with the make-up. Today I JUST have mascara on, ha. I love make-up and I like putting it on, but some mornings I just want to sleep and I will always sacrifice make-up time for sleep time. LOL
