I hope everyone is having a happy and festive week. I know the holiday season can feel overwhelming… so don’t forget to carve out a little time for yourself- even if it’s a warm cup of cocoa under the sparking tree after your family has gone to bed ❤️

I wanted to share a few favorites that I’ve seen floating around lately…

Like most readers, I have way too many books on my tbr shelf (in my house and on my GR page). I’m obviously driving M down the same path. I love collecting children books for her. Carolann shared some of her daughter’s favorites and I’ve added them all to my wishlist for M.

In the fashion department, the always cute and comfy and cozy Chelsea has been working on affordable Amazon styles. Some day we’ll be able to safely brunch and shop and party… so we’ll have somewhere to wear these adorable ensembles. Fortunately, Chels puts together some cozy looks, too!

In keeping with book recs, Lauren has put together a list of great reads for specific people who’d enjoy them! I can vouch for a fews of these! (And now want to read all the others!)

Ok… I’ve gushed about this series before but I just saw SEASON 3 is now out! If you love period dramas and you haven’t checked out High Seas (Alta Mar) on Netflix, you really really need to!

K and I have started to get serious about zero-based budgeting. I used the Dave Ramsey free trial to kick it off, but I got rid of the subscription after the trial was over and I’m going at it alone. This isn’t a new novel idea… just something I figured I’d share.

Alright… I know I had more to say but I forget. Have a happy Tuesday!

Things I’m Loving

Happy Tuesday!

I thought it’d be fun to blog about something not baby related, lol. I do have some parent/baby things on here, but whatever.

Starbucks Almondmilk Honey Flat White w/ Blonde Espresso
Oh my gosh… this drink is so good! It’s warm and creamy but not super sweet. So yummy & it’s dairy free and fairly low calories (if you care, ha).

The Ollie Swaddle
We used a few other swaddles before switching M to this one. It’s not cheap, but the first night she wore it she slept 5+ hours so…. I’ll take it. Sometimes she busts her arm out, but it usually holds all night. Also, once she can roll we can swaddle under the arms and keep using it. WIN.

The West Wing
Have you guys heard of this show? (I’m kidding… it aired 1999-2006.) All seven seasons are on Netflix. K and I are bingeing them for a second time right now. I will warn you… it will potentially make you more sad/angry/disgusted with our current administration. Ugh.

Taking Cara Babies
When I was asking for parenting/sleep advice Erin introduced me to Cara at Taking Cara Babies. After following her IG for a few weeks I decided to take her “Will I Ever Sleep Again” 0-12 week newborn sleep class. M is not a fussy baby, so I didn’t really need the calming lessons, but the schedule and tips and education has been invaluable!  Right now M eats at 8:30/9pm and then sleeps until 3am. She eats again and sleeps until 7am. One wake up at the age of 7 weeks? I’ll take it.

The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
I haven’t done much reading, but I’m currently working on this book. I am LOVING it so far. I will share my final thoughts on the next SUYB link up!

SNOW!
We are finally getting some snow and I am SO happy about it!

What are you loving lately?

Things I Want to Share With You

Hello. I have a bunch of stuff to share on my blog (baby shower details, maternity pictures, annual Halloween party recap) but today I’m planning to share some internet treasures that I’ve been loving.

life_as_louise_favorites

Sometimes on lazy blog days I share links from other bloggers that I gathered last minute in an attempt to provide content. That is not today.

I’ve been putting this list together as I’ve been reading these posts. All are SUPER well thought out, beautiful, hard, or important posts from very talented and caring bloggers. I hope you’ll visit each site and I hope you take something away from their writing.

Blog Posts I Think You Should Read:

None-Blog Stuff:

  • Have you listened to Lindsay and Christine‘s Influenced the Podcast yet? I can’t believe they’re 20+ episodes in already!! I love getting my weekly dose of them!
  • On IG a long time blogger friend shared the happiest news ever! Ashten has been super open and upfront about her journey through infertility & I’m so happy to hear she’s welcoming a baby boy next June!
  • We’ve been sucked into The Masked Singer, but even much better than that show is Almost Family which airs after it. We decided to watch the first episode one night and really liked it. Is anyone else watching it?

Tell me something you’ve been itching to share!

The Calm Before the Weekend Storm (FAVORITES!)

I have 11 drafts sitting in a folder but none of them feel *right* for today. I’m in a reflective mood; calm and mellow and ready for the weekend. I typically get this way before a busy weekend. My introvert brain needs chill-time and since I won’t be getting any this weekend, I need to soak it in pre-weekend.

Tomorrow night I’m headed to an Indian’s baseball game with my cousin and some friends. Saturday I’m boating with friends. Sunday I have a softball game and then K and I are headed to a Jimmy Eat World concert in Cleveland in the evening. Someone reserve me a nap pod on Monday morning, please and thanks. Not to mention soon we’re headed to Texas for business. Lord, help me…

So today I’m going to share some blog posts that inspired me or amused me or made me think.

  • Lindsay is starting a new series called Whiskey in a Teacup and I am here for it. In her first post she shared a very real and raw struggle that she’s dealt with for years. I love her bravery and honesty.
  • As the mom to a very anxious dog, I love it when other dog-moms share tips and tricks that work for them. Taylor wrote about dogs & fireworks in honor of the 4th and I really appreciated the advice.
  • Chelsea is one of my closest blog friends. I discovered her site when I first started LaL and I love keeping up with her. Chelsea is a writer, entrepreneur, wife, mother, badass, traveler, and NOW she’s a TEDxTalk speaker!
  • In the same breath, Aubrey is one of my very best friends IRL. She’s slightly insta-famous and extremely talented. She shared it a while ago, but I love her post about starting over and healing and reclaiming her life after a devastating break-up.
  • I will never have the need or opportunity to do it (never say never?), but Carolann’s post about flying Space A is fascinating! The process and the plane and everything about it is so new and unique to me!
  • Emma does a monthly travel link-up and this past one was on kindness while traveling. Her stories are so so sweet! I love it when a stranger makes my day (or trip)!
  • I think most of Blogworld knows about Chelsea and her uplifting blog. Hopefully you didn’t miss her recent post on falling in love with your own life. She’s wise and optimistic beyond her years 🙂

I know this is a fairly lazy post on my behalf, but I genuinely love all the things these ladies created and put out on their blogs. I encourage you to spend your time there today ❤

Have a great weekend!

Blogger Favorites (and more!)

Happy Tuesday ❤︎ It’s been a really long time since I’ve written a “favorites” post and I’ve been collecting some awesome blog posts over the last month or so.

Can you tell I’m 100% in vacation-mode? Ha.

Ok… on to the posts:

What are some recent favorites- online and off- that you’ve discovered lately??

*Totally forgot about the link-up with Lauren & Bre! Counting this as an ‘Add It To My List’ post!!
