Goals Update Q2

Happy 32nd Anniversary to my mom & dad!

Tomorrow is the first day of summer so I’m recapping my goals from the second quarter of 2019 and sharing my Q3 goals.

Life got a little nuts this past quarter & my goals suffered.

Spring Goals

  1. Start Year 5 Scrapbook
  2. Read at least three books per month (April, May, June) & finish Erin’s Challenge
  3. Visit yoga studio at least once a week
  4. Figure out fall travel: friends trip
  5. Figure out and work toward financial goals (IRA, credit cards, etc.)

I’m in the process of moving my home office/studio into the den (so the room can be a nursery). Despite the upheaval, I did manage to start my Year 5 scrapbook. I did not manage to read three books per month. I think I finished 2 in April and 0 in May. This month I’ve finished 1 so far, but I think I’ll squeeze a few more in.

When I found out I was pregnant I stopped going to traditional yoga classes, but this month my studio offered prenatal yoga on Saturdays so I’ve been going to that weekly. I didn’t do it all quarter, though, so I’m not counting it. Fall trip to Tampa is booked. Financial goals are hashed out and started (but it’s definitely ongoing).

Summer Goals

  1. Finish cleaning out room & paint nursery
  2. Organize basement
  3. Read and finish 3/4 of Erin’s Book Challenge (I have until Oct. to complete)
  4. Find out gender & plan reveal event
  5. Assist in baby shower prep
  6. Continue financial goals
  7. Visit Aub in Florida!!
  8. Finish the registry

…half of these goals center around baby prep. It’s kind of on our minds, lol.

I have made a TON of progress on the basement already and I’m in the midst of planning a family get together for the reveal so those goals are in progress. Since we have a little more to do I upped my goal number to 8 for this quarter. I guarantee I will have much less/easier Fall goals, lol.

2019 Resolutions

  • Read 40 Books I’ve read 18/40
  • Work on my marriage habits
  • Keep a gratitude journal I jumped ship here. LOL
  • Budget I purchased and downloaded Steph’s Zero Based Budget Template & it’s been working well for me!
  • Work on sticking to a consistent schedule Getting better. Bed by 10pm, up around 6:30am… I’m working on it. Meals are kind of planned. Lol

I can’t remember what I meant by “work on my marriage habits.” That said, things have been really great & fun between us so I think I’m meeting that goal. Hahaha. The book goal & budgeting goal are going ok, too. RIP gratitude journal, lol.

And that’s it for now. How are your goals progressing this year? Do you still remember what 2019 resolutions you made (or what you meant when you made them, lol)?

Goals Update Q1

Hi ya. I group my goals into quarters, so today I’m reporting back on Q1.

I only have a handful of goals each quarter, so I’m revisiting my yearlong resolutions, too.

Winter Goals

  1. Finish Year 4 Scrapbook
  2. Read at least three books per month (January, February, March)
  3. Visit yoga studio at least once a week
  4. Meal plan every week
  5. Finish Xmas shopping & enjoy the parties and off time we have coming!

I only listed five goals because I wanted a shot at achieving ALL of them. I finished my scrapbook (yay!) and obviously I finished Christmas shopping. I got all my books read, too. I didn’t get to the yoga studio every week. I have no good excuses there. Also, we traveled A LOT so I didn’t meal plan every week, but I did do it quite often.

Spring Goals

  1. Start Year 5 Scrapbook
  2. Read at least three books per month (April, May, June) & finish Erin’s Challenge
  3. Visit yoga studio at least once a week
  4. Figure out fall travel: friends trip
  5. Figure out and work toward financial goals (IRA, credit cards, etc.)

My yoga package expires in May, I think, so I have to squeeze in all my remaining classes before then.

2019 Resolutions

  • Read 40 Books I’ve read 11/40
  • Work on my marriage habits
  • Keep a gratitude journal Not doing great with this one.
  • Budget Carolann suggested “You Need A Budget.” I tried it for a free month. I’ve been taking notes from Stephanie, the budget guru, too.Still working on this one.
  • Work on sticking to a consistent schedule Fail on all accounts. Travel tends to mess me up and we’ve been to multiple states this year already.

Just as a side note, I’ve been working on my Overhaul Goals as well.

So… not stellar, but not terrible. We have a few more weeks of travel, then we’ll be home for a while. I do better with my goals when we’re not leaving the state. Lol

What are your spring goals? I always feel like calendar-ly speaking, spring flies by.

Spring & Summer Recap

Oh hello, Fall. You beautiful, sexy, amazing, perfect, gorgeous piece of the year. I’ve missed you so. (I know we’re 4 days away. I know.)

Today I’m putting the end cap on my spring & summer bucket list before divulging my fall list. I’ll share my new list on Thursday, so stick around 🙂 Until then, let’s evaluate my summer…

  • Go to a major or minor league baseball game (Indian’s game with cousin & friends)
  • Visit the farmers market at least twice
  • Go on anniversary trip to Gettysburg
  • Go to country summer concert with friends (Kenny Chesney)
  • Go to summer concert with K (Jimmy Eat World)
  • Finish cleaning stuff out of M&D’s basement
    Making progress!
  • Finish purging unnecessary stuff (This is never done but it’s “done” for now.)
  • Have a garage sale at new house!
  • Go to the outdoor rootbeer stand (Fundays)
  • Go swimming!
  • Go to Trumpet in the Land (outdoor play)
  • Follow 5 new blogs
  • Set up home office
  • Set up basement workout space
  • Scrapbook & finish year 3
  • Summer vacation (Darlington, SC)
  • Paint the bedroom
  • MAKE SOME DAMN ICE CREAM

Not bad… not bad…

As far as things I did not do…
We more or less nixed the idea of a basement workout space for now.
Our plan is to paint many rooms at once (and hire someone to do it). Putting it on the fall list.
I made a lot of progress on my home office/craft room, but it’s not done by any means so I don’t want to completely cross it off my list.

I don’t know that I necessarily started following 5 new bloggers, but I started frequenting and visiting the sites of multiple blog-acquaintances in hopes of becoming blog-friends. Does that make sense?

I know you summer-lovers are dreading the next 4 months (5 months? 6 months? …who knows), but I am very happy to see this new season. Come back in two days for my fall bucket list!

Start of Summer: Goals Check-In

If you’ll recall, I combined my spring and summer goals and bucket list items into one post. I don’t like these warm seasons but having some fun stuff to look forward to helps me keep a good attitude. (Full disclosure: I did NOT have a good attitude about the +90 degree days in June.)

So anyway, since Thursday was the first day of summer, I figured a check-in was smart.

  • Go to a major or minor league baseball game
I haven’t done this yet BUT it’s physically on the calendar for July!
  • Visit the farmers market at least twice
  • Go on anniversary trip to Gettysburg
  • Go to country summer concert with friends
  • Go to summer concert with K (Jimmy Eat World)
Also already on the calendar for July!
  • Finish cleaning stuff out of M&D’s basement
    Making progress!
  • Finish purging unnecessary stuff
It will be sold at the garage sale or donated by the end of the week!
  • Have a garage sale at new house!
    Happening this coming weekend!
  • Go to the outdoor rootbeer stand (Fundays)
  • Go swimming!
  • Go to Trumpet in the Land (outdoor play)
  • Follow 5 new blogs
  • Set up home office
  • Set up basement workout space
  • Scrapbook & finish year 3
  • Summer vacation?
  • Paint the bedroom
  • MAKE SOME DAMN ICE CREAM

I’m actually doing better than I thought I was. Yay for putting things on the list that I already had scheduled. Hahaha. Let’s bring me down a notch and revisit the goals for 2018 that I set…

Drink 64 oz. of water a day.
NOPE. I’m aiming for 32 oz. right now. Although on the day of Pride & the outdoor concert I drank over 96 ounces of water!

Read 50 books in 2018. And complete one of Erin’s Challenges.
I’m working on it… I’ve read 17 books and Erin’s next challenge start in July.

Start exercising.
Hahahahahahahaha. Nah.

Keep up with meal planning.
This has mostly been a bust. We haven’t gone out to dinner much, but dinners are either thrown together, tossed on the grill, or ordered off a takeout menu. Summer threw me off.

Practice kindness, patience, grace, and peace.
I actually think I’ve made some progress with this goal. I’ve taken steps to controlling my emotions. I’m trying to be a better, more supportive, loving friend. Obviously there’s always room for improvement. I know I’m never done improving.

Not doing so great with the yearlong goals. Lol

I’ve got one more season to knock these out so fingers crossed! I’m not sure if the painting, scrapbooking, or workout space are going to happen… but I’ll try 😉

2018 Spring & Summer Bucket List

Today is my Friday & I’m not mad about it. I hope you’re getting some time off this weekend, too!

I like keeping my seasonal goals separated, but I’m going to combined bucket list items for spring and summer because these two season are very bleh to me and melt together in my head anyway.

Here’s my list for spring and summer:

  • Go to a major or minor league baseball game
  • Visit the farmers market at least twice
  • Go on anniversary trip to Gettysburg*
  • Go to country summer concert with friends (K.Chesney, Old Dominion, T. Rhett)
  • Go to summer concert with K (Jimmy Eat World)
  • Finish cleaning stuff out of M&D’s basement
  • Finish purging unnecessary stuff
  • Have a garage sale at new house!
  • Go to the outdoor rootbeer stand (Fundays)
  • Go swimming!
  • Go to Trumpet in the Land (outdoor play)*
  • Follow 5 new blogs
  • Set up home office
  • Set up basement workout space
  • Scrapbook & finish year 3*
  • Summer vacation?
  • Paint the bedroom
  • MAKE SOME DAMN ICE CREAM

Seriously, though. I need to make some flipping ice cream or give it all up and sell the machine. (#pathetic) The asterisks denote items on my 30×30 list. Some of these are guaranteed like Gettysburg and the concerts.

All of these are doable & hopefully I can check off some tasks that have been on the list for a while. What are your plans for the warm weather months?

Hope you have a great weekend and a Happy Easter!
