Every year I write an end-of-the-year post. I wasn’t especially active in this space this year, but I still wanted to add my recap for 2023 for future-me to look back on…

Honestly, I swear this year just started. But then I see pictures of M and her friends from January and I’m like, “Look at those babies!” So I guess it really has been 365 days. Yikes.

2023 was pretty gentle, all things considered. It was a year of catching up professionally and socially. We saw lots of friends this year and spent time enjoying one another. There were ups and downs, of course. Highlights included buying a permanent campsite & visiting Disney World. The low points were definitely Kyle’s ACL/meniscus surgery and saying goodbye to my maternal grandma. Work was pretty undramatic for the first time in maybe forever. M started preschool (& loves it!). Enzo and Bristol had a good year. Dare I say it, we’re all walking out of 2023 relatively happy and healthy.

This year was filled with lots of travel and family and friends. We visited Florida a few times, Texas, both Carolinas, Indianapolis, & Tennessee. We popped into lots of local places, too. M saw friends of hers pretty much everywhere we went. K spent the first part of the year getting his knee back in shape. And I just took care of everyone and had my fair share of marg nights with my friends.

So what’s in store for 2024… Who knows? I guess we’ll find out what the year has to offer.
