Book Challenge by Erin 16.0

Sadly, I didn’t finish any books since the last Show Us Your Books link-up. I’ve started three, but I haven’t found the motivations to finish them… I’m going on a little trip this month so maybe I can finish something while I’m on the road. Fingers crossed, anyway.

I don’t have any reviews, but I figured I’d link up with my list for Erin’s 16.0 Book Challenge. I didn’t read a single thing from the last one, but I’m a dreamer dammit. So here I am, linking up with Steph and Jana, sharing some books that I hope to get to in the next five months.

| 5 points | Freebie: The Love Hypothesis (Hazelwood)
| 10 points | Title starts with the letter C: Carnegie’s Maid (Benedict)
| 10 points | Published in 2020 or 2021: The Wedding Game (Quinn)
| 15 points | One of the following in the title: you/your/etc.: Share Your Stuff. I’ll Go First. (Tremaine)
| 20 points | Set on an island: The Unhoneymooners (Lauren)
| 20 points | From an indigenous or First Nations author: There There (Orange)
| 25 points | A memoir/biography/autobiography: Catherine the Great: Portrait of a Woman (Massie)
| 30 point | One of these in the title: Ace/King/Queen/Jack/Joker: Queen of the Tearling (Johansen)
| 30 points | Poetry or a book written in verse: The Poet X (Acevedo)
| 35 points | By or inspired by Jane Austen: The Jane Austen Book Club (Fowler)

Hopefully next month I have a handful of reviews. As far as today goes, it’s mostly a wishlist.

Have you read any of these? Where should I start?

  1. I want to make a list for this but I cannot for the life of me remember any books I own. Not that I expect to read a lot at the beginning of next year 😅.

I haven’t read any of the books you picked but a couple are on my tbr.

I think I own roughly half of these. One I’m planning to buy. The others I can hopefully find at the library/on the library’s ereader database.
You might be surprised! I got a lot of reading done in the early days! Keep a book nearby. You’re trapped under baby A LOT. Lol!!

I hear good things about The Love Hypothesis, so it’s one I’d like to read. I own The Wedding Game but still need to read it. The only one I have read is The Poet X, which was good!

Me too! I just got it in my BOTM picks. I’m excited to read that one! I own The Wedding Game, too. Hopefully I tackle the ones I own pretty quickly 🙂

I didn’t even participate the last year because I wasn’t feeling it. I liked these categories so I decided to join in. I initially picked There There as well, but I knew I’d never read it so I switched it. I have The Jane Austen Book Club on my list as well. It sounds fun, so hopefully I finish it.

I made a list and didn’t read a single book off it. Sigh. I think There There sounds up my alley, plus it was already marked as “want to read” on the GoodReads list! Yay! Ha. I haven’t read any Jane Austen (I tried to read P&P but couldn’t get into it) but I’m hoping I don’t need much info to enjoy the book club book.

  5. Book challenges always look like fun but I haven’t done one yet. Joining Goodreads and setting a goal for each year has been enjoyable but I do feel disappointed when I don’t reach it!

I’ve started setting smaller goals. I usually pass them up and don’t feel as pressured. Life is too crazy and icky to be stressed about reading!

  6. There There is a phenomenal book. It’s got a bit of violence, so just be aware of that. Not a ton, but some.

Thank you for the warning!! I don’t love a ton of violence but I can stomach it for a good read ❤
